Welcome to Bengalis in Chicago, a vibrant group of Bengalis (& non-Bengalis) in downtown Chicago. We are a community of university students & professionals from the Chicagoland area who have come together to celebrate major Bengali festivals like the Durga Puja & Saraswati Puja. We have come a long way since 2006-07, when a few friends met over a potluck & expressed a desire to organize Saraswati Puja, & then the Durga Puja in the city of Chicago, the first ever Durga Puja in downtown Chicago. We also organize cultural events such as Nabobarsho, the Bengali New Year, & Rabindra Jayanti. Besides, we are enthusiastic about meeting new people, making new friends, & eating delicious Bengali food over a session of adda. So please join us at our upcoming events & be a part of our group.
